AIGC Section Competition Rules

 

I. General Provisions

(I) About the 30°Ningbo Short Film Festival

30°Ningbo Short Film Festival has consistently championed diverse expressions and cutting-edge explorations in visual storytelling. The AIGC section welcomes global creators to submit AI-generated visual works that blend technological innovation with artistic expression, driving the deep integration and industrial transformation of AI technology in film and television production.

(II) Unit Positioning

1. Openness: No restrictions on creative models, tools, or themes;

2. Professionalism: Comprehensive evaluation based on technological innovation, artistic expression, and content integrity;

3. Internationality: Open to global film and television professionals, AI creators, university faculty and students, and youth creative groups.

(III) Submission Period

Film Submission Period: March 17, 2026 to June 30, 2026 (Beijing Time)

(IV) Registration Channels and Fees

 No registration fees will be charged for this competition. The following 2 official registration channels are designated:

Channel 1: Follow the official WeChat public account 'wdy0574' and reply with 'TOUPIAN' to obtain registration information;

Channel 2: Visit the official website www.nbfestival.com to obtain registration information.

II. Category Setup and Submission Requirements

(I) Category Setup

1. AIGC Short Film Category: Duration 5–20 minutes (including opening and closing credits). AI technology must account for over 70% of the production process.

2. AIGC Ultra-Short Film Category: Duration 1–5 minutes (including opening and closing credits). AI technology must account for over 70% of the production process.

(II) Technical Definition

1. AI Technology Usage Ratio: Refers to the comprehensive weighting of content generated or co-generated by artificial intelligence technologies throughout the entire film production process. This includes but is not limited to: image generation (text-to-video, image-to-video), sound design and music generation, script creation and narrative structure assistance, visual effects and post-production processing.

2. Requirements for Creative Statements: All submissions must include a comprehensive creative statement detailing the type of AI technology employed, its application scenarios, and implementation specifics. This includes, but is not limited to: detailing the type of AI technology employed, its application context, and implementation specifics. This must include, but is not limited to: - Name and version of the AI tool used - A comprehensive description of the content generation workflow - Examples of core prompts and key parameter configurations - Screenshots of the creative workflow - Key screenshots or condensed video clips from the generation process - A breakdown of the proportion of AI-generated content versus traditional post-production work This statement will serve as a critical basis for the judging panel to understand the creative logic and conduct technical reviews.

(III) Requirements

1. No restrictions on AI models or tools. Creators may freely choose locally deployed open-source models, commercial AI platforms, self-developed tools, or combinations thereof to complete their work.

2. Theme: No restrictions. Creators are encouraged to explore diverse perspectives—including contemporary social issues, cultural heritage, personal emotional expression, and sci-fi imagination—to produce AIGC works that blend intellectual depth with artistic impact.

3. Film Production Cycle:The submitted film should be completed between January 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026.

4. Format Requirements: MOV or MP4 formats are supported, with a minimum resolution of 1080p.

5. Subtitle Requirements: Non-Chinese dialogue must include Chinese subtitles. Adding bilingual subtitles is encouraged.

III. Eligibility

 (I) Participants

1. Open to creators worldwide, including: film and television professionals, AI technology creators, university faculty and students, youth creative groups, independent creators, and creative teams;

2. No restrictions on nationality or age.

(II)Participation Format

1. Participants may enter individually or as a team (no limit on team size)

2. Each creator/team may submit multiple entries, but the same work cannot be submitted to two categories simultaneously.

(III) Film Copyright

Submitted works must be original creations. Creators must be the copyright owners or authorized representatives of the submitted works. If third-party materials (including but not limited to images, music, sounds, etc.) are used, legal authorization must be obtained. Participants shall bear full legal responsibility for any copyright disputes arising from such use.

Supplementary Notes:

1. Final honors shall be collected by the participating representative; the distribution of prize money is unrelated to the organizing committee.

2. The amounts listed above are pre-tax; actual disbursement shall be based on post-tax amounts.

3. Award-winning works must mention '30°Ningbo Short Film Festival Award-Winning Work' in all subsequent external promotions or use the official laurel emblem provided by the organizing committee. Unauthorized modification of the emblem is strictly prohibited.

4. The organizing committee reserves the final right of interpretation.

V. Submission Guidelines

Application materials must include the following:

1. Application Form: Provide both PDF and Word versions;

2. Authorization Agreement and Copyright Statement: Fully completed with handwritten signature; organizations must affix official seal. Submit as scanned copy or electronic image;

3. Posters: One landscape and one portrait format in JPG;

4.Movie Trailer: Maximum 1 minute in length, acceptable formats include mp4, mpg, mov;

Compile all materials and the work into a single package, upload to Baidu Netdisk, and generate a download link (ensure the link remains valid long-term). Send the link to the official email address: nsff2026@163.com. The email subject line must follow this format: “AIGC Unit” + “Work Title” + Lead Creator's Name.

VI. Copyright and Usage Authorization

(1) Copyright Ownership

Full copyright of submitted works remains with the creators. Creators must ensure their works are free from copyright disputes. Should any legal issues arise, creators shall bear sole responsibility.

(2) Usage Rights

By submitting works, participants grant the Organizing Committee the following rights:

1. Screening works during the film festival and related events;

2. Use excerpts (not exceeding 20% of total runtime), stills, trailers, and other materials for promotional purposes;

3. Include the work in the Organizing Committee's database for non-commercial archiving;

4. Display the work online via official partner platforms.

VII. Important Notice

By registering for this category, participants are deemed to acknowledge and accept all terms of these regulations. Contestants must ensure the accuracy and validity of all submitted information. Should any entry be found non-compliant with these regulations, the organizing committee reserves the right to disqualify the participant. Should any awarded prize be discovered to involve violations, the organizing committee reserves the right to revoke the honor and reclaim the prize money.
