In 1994, he won the Best Screenplay Award at the 31st Taiwan Golden Horse Awards for his drama film "Red Rose and White Rose".
In 1997, the drama film "The More Happy, the More Fallen" directed was nominated for the main competition unit of the 48th Berlin International Film Festival.
